Elevating Vanta's Iconography
After rebranding Vanta, the leading automated security and compliance platform, our team was challenged to elevate their iconography. These icons have been derived from the new visual language, building from the strategic brand foundations and aesthetic of the Vanta Identity.
Vanta has two levels of iconography, Expressive and Functional, and they both take their design language from 'ilma'. For this iconography project, we focus on ‘expressive iconography’.
Our Expressive iconography is intended for communication purposes and intended for use in medium and large sizes.

Modern Tools, Classic Technique
We started the sketches by using iPad instead of traditional drawing. We set up the brush to create thick and thin strokes. To achieve the desired effect, the Width Tool in Adobe Illustrator is ideal for customizing live paths.
As a lead designer of the team, I am the head of the project from start to finish, managing the timeline, sketching, designing, creating client presentations, providing day-to-day direction for a junior designer, and handing off the asset to the client.
